​Bayt Al-Hikma Delegation to the People's Republic of China Continues its Scientific Activities


​As part of the academic delegation's visit from Bayt Al-Hikma to the People's Republic of China, a workshop was held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Institute of West Asian and African Studies within the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Dr. Haidar Qasim Matar Al-Tamimi, Secretary-General of Bayt Al-Hikma, opened the session with a speech discussing the centrality of Iraq's geopolitical location in the New Silk Road, the necessity of concerted academic efforts to untangle crises and achieve sustainable development, drawing upon the vision of the Department of Historical Studies at Bayt Al-Hikma. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Muhannad Abdul-Hasan Jallab, emphasized during his moderation of the scientific sessions the importance of scientific partnerships with counterpart international institutions.

​The workshop addressed several topics, represented by the launch of joint research projects and working papers focusing on economic, security, and political developments in the West Asia region and Iraq's vital role within it, alongside adopting regular mechanisms for exchanging leading publications and developmental report series, enhancing mutual publishing opportunities for researchers, as well as establishing frameworks for joint training programs for young researchers, exchanging scientific visits, holding periodic conferences concerned with the dialogue of civilizations, and establishing a sustainable consultative platform that opens unprecedented horizons for the movement of scientific and political research between Iraq and China.
