Bayt Al-Hikma Participates in the Proceedings of the Second International Symposium on “Xi Jinping Thought on Culture”
Bayt Al-Hikma, represented by its Secretary-General, Professor Dr. Haider Qasim Matar Al-Tamimi, participated today, Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the proceedings of the Second International Academic Symposium on “Xi Jinping Thought on Culture,” held under the theme “Strengthening Cultural Subjectivity and Advancing Chinese Modernization.” The symposium was organized by the Xinhua Institute for Studies in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, with broad international participation and the attendance of a distinguished group of senior officials and intellectuals, as well as leaders of Chinese and international academies and universities.
The session featured profound intellectual discussions focusing on the concept of “cultural subjectivity,” the dialogue among civilizations, and the building of a community with a shared future for humanity. The discussions brought together prominent representatives and intellectuals from various countries around the world, including Argentina, Russia, Brazil, and Spain.
Iraq’s representation at this major international forum embodied a series of initiatives and perspectives reflecting Baghdad’s academic heritage. The participation included attending the main sessions and presenting the Bayt Al-Hikma commemorative shield, symbolizing Iraqi intellectual heritage, to the organizers of the scientific forum. This gesture reaffirmed the depth of the research and intellectual partnership between Bayt Al-Hikma and leading Chinese academic institutions, particularly the Xinhua Institute for Studies and South China University.
Bayt Al-Hikma’s active participation will continue in the third sub-session, entitled “Deepening Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations,” which will be held on Monday morning. The session will present an exceptional academic perspective highlighting the role of Iraqi civilization and its knowledge institutions in fostering mutual understanding and consolidating the values of equal and constructive human dialogue.
This participation reflects Bayt Al-Hikma’s commitment to maintaining an active presence on platforms that shape contemporary global thought, while emphasizing the importance of drawing upon authentic cultural roots and exchanging expertise among ancient and distinguished civilizations
